HipChat is a software developed and published by Atlassian, which provides the primary function of instant messaging service and gives you the option of chatting privately with people online. The software has group chat and one-on-one chat features, supporting a cloud-based information storage system. The software comes with a searchable messaging history, video calling, and inline-image viewing. HipChat was available for download for macOS, Windows, Linux as well as iOS and Android running tablets and smartphones. HipChat was launched for the first time In 2010, and in 2012 it was acquired by Atlassian.

Since 2014 the software used a freemium license business model and only required some organizations to pay for some features and services. This unique system for the organizations was based on a subscription-based model. Later in 2017, the HipChat was replaced with another cloud-based application called Stride, whereas HipChat continued as HipChat Data Center, which is client-hosted and comes with a proprietary license. Later, another transition in the software's history when Atlassian, in a partnership with Slack, announced that Slack would acquire HipChat and Stride's IP assets and codebase.

1. The parent company of claims that the customer's privacy and security is the #1 priority of the company. HipChat uses a 256-bit SSL encryption protocol, which is the same as used for the online transaction.
2. The software gives full access to the administrator of the group chat. You will control what others see and what they don't. The different vendors, clients, and third-party associated will see what you want them to see.
3. For your presentation and other similar video calls and conference calls, the software supports screen sharing. The screen sharing is selective, and you can show what you want on your screen and nothing else.
4. The screen-sharing allows you and your colleagues to work and collaborate on the same thing at once, which is a significant advantage.
5. The software uses a Drag-and-Drop system of file sharing, which means you can easily pick up a file from a place and drop it at a different location with minimal effort.

How to download HipChat on your PC?

• 1. To download HipChat on your PC, click on the following download button on the screen's top-right corner.
• 2. Once you've clicked the button, your HipChat setup will be downloaded, and you can double-click on the downloaded HipChat file to start the installation process from your browser's default downloads folder.
• 3. If your installation doesn't start, right-click on the file and select the Run as Administrator option to begin the installation process.
• 4. Once the process starts, you will be shown an installation window, where the first screen would be a Welcome screen. Click on the Next button to continue to the next screen.
• 5. On the next screen, you will be shown the End User's Agreement; here, click on I Agree to continue with the installation process or click on the Disagree button if you want to abort the installation process.
• 6. Before pressing either of the options, read the terms and conditions carefully. After choosing I Agree, you will be asked for the location where you want your installation files to go, specify a customized location, or continue with the location provided by the installation wizard.
• 7. Now the final installation process starts, and once this process is completed, the software is installed on your PC.
